Known as CC Inserts, this unique design helps pull the exhaust gases through the exhaust system. This can increase torque and horsepower, while decreasing sound volume. The insert is 7" long. Simply slide them into your header collector or anywhere in the exhaust pipe. You can easily install them to be removable. These baffles are so unique that they have a US Patent. They offer a great amount of versatility to dial the sound where you want it. They can be packed between each disk with a muffler packing or steel wool and each kit comes with an optional plug and restrictor cap for the center tube. Save weight (less than 1 pound), and valuable space under the car. Sold individually.
Sold individually.

The size is based on the outside (OD) diameter of the pipe the Inserts are to fit into. Each application will be different. Some race applications have proven satisfactory with only a single disk insert. The use of CC Inserts allows the user to custom tailor the unit for his specific application. Car Chemistry, Inc. cannot guarantee that any specific application will meet the sound requirements of all municipalities or other governmental agencies. The wide variety of engine configurations and exhaust system designs preclude guaranteeing that all systems using CC Inserts will be street legal.

Great sound and eliminated the frequency issue at a certain RPM
Perfect fit

The 3 disk inserts were successful in a significant
reduction in the drone I was getting from Magnaflow performance mufflers. Support from Car Chemistry was outstanding.

I have a '03 VW GTI VR6 with a suitcase muffler delete (res and second small-muffler remained). The car sounded amazing most of the time, except for inside the cabin at around 2-3k rpm. The drone was deafening at times. This insert measures 2 1/8" in diameter, because its meant for 2 1/4" ID pipes. But, for whatever reason, it fit VERY snugly in my 2 1/4" OD exhaust. Threw it straight in the tail pipe a pop rivet for security but I don't think it was even necessary.
Anyway, it served the purpose I was looking for in reducing drone by about 80%. Cabin levels are closer to stock while maintaining a lot of the beautiful exterior noise this engine makes. Drone at its worst is just kind of there, not too annoying like before. At its best its just what I wanted.
Only one issue I have, and this should be expected for a $60 fix: When accelerating at all you can hear air rushing past the insert. It's gotten a little better (or maybe I've gotten used to it), but it's very noticeable and I feel like it's taken some of the throat out of the higher end. It isn't the worst thing but its enough to knock off a star.
All in all it is an amazing stopgap measure while I wait to perhaps get an actual catback or something. I would recommend it to anyone in a similar position (maybe two disks would be a better balance?). But the tiny inconvenience of the air rushing sound is nothing like excessive drone, so for $60, I'm quite satisfied.
The air rushing is due to being installed in the tailpipe on a smaller exhaust. We recommend installing before the muffler, and there would be no rushing sound. The tight fit most likely due to the exhaust size being metric. Thanks. Ken

Wow! This CC insert is amazing! I have a 2003 Accord V6 that came with a full Greddy Evo 2 exhaust. The exhaust looked nice and sounded nice on the exterior, but inside there was obnoxious drone. This CC insert reduced the drone by about 80% so the car is now pleasant to drive. It's a bit more restrictive, so I could feel a little power loss in upper RPMs, but it's well worth it. I recommend this to anyone who wants to quite down their exhaust.
